Sour Strawberries: Part 13

‘I- I mean...’ The green haired alien boy stuttered. ‘I’ m feeling much better, so there’ s no need to check them.’ ‘Honto?’ Ichigo asked surprised. He quickly nodded, and the red haired girl shrugged her shoulders as a reply. ‘Mah... I’ m going to bring these bandages back to the medicine shelf in the bathroom then. I’ ll be back in just a minute.’ Then she disappeared out of the living room and ran upstairs. Deep Blue sighed relieved. “That was a close call...” he thought, while he sat down on the couch again. He knew that Ichigo could be dumb sometimes, but that she didn’ t asked any further than this was really easy for him to make her believe that he was Kisshu. Deep Blue grinned. ‘You’ re just a few steps away from your death anymore, pacific little Mew.’ he whispered on an evil tone.
And so some days slipped with Ichigo going to school, working in the Café with her friends which made her never get a change to see Kish. She was almost getting depressed of it. Leaving aside that she was very friendly and happy towards the customers, she was totally gloomy when she was alone or when she was done working. Her friends tried to cheer her up a bit, but nothing seemed to work. There didn’ t even appear a smile on her face when Mint actually began working with the others, and that mend that she must be really upset about the thing that she couldn’t spend more time with her new alien boyfriend. However, this day would be different. But not in a good way...

Ichigo changed her shoes and immediately leaved school to go straight towards Café Mew Mew. When she arrived at the Café extremely early, she began doing that since the passed week, and walked to the dressing room she was getting a few worried looks from Ryou and Keiichirou who were the only others in the pink building. Ichigo sighed, and took out her school uniform. While standing in her underwear, she watched at herself in the mirror. ‘I wonder if he’ s avoiding me,’ she softly whispered. She took the red ribbons out of her hair and threw them in her school bag. ‘Maybe I need to lose weight, or something else to make him touch or kiss me again.’ She lay a hand on her stomach, turned around a few times and then took her waitress uniform. The pink and red coloured dress fitted her perfectly so maybe she wasn’ t fat at all. She made a ribbon on the back side from her white apron, put her shoes on and watched at herself again. ‘Kisshu...’ she mumbled, laying a hand on the glass. ‘I miss you.’ She closed her grey eyes, and tried to hold back her tears. When she opened her eyes again and looked at her mirror picture she was shocked. She saw Kisshu who was bouncing on the glass. ‘Ichigo!’ he screamed. ‘Ichigo! Help me!’ Ichigo gasped. ‘E- Eh?’ She couldn’ t say any more than that. She pulled her hand away from the glass and watched again. When she blinked with her eyes, he was gone. ‘I must have been hallucinating.’ she said, and then disappeared out of the dressing room and closed the door hardly behind her.

‘Ichigo.’ She turned around and saw the whole group standing in front of her. ‘O re? Mina... Dos ta no?’ she asked. ‘Ichigo-san, we’ re worrying about you.’ Lettuce said to her companion. ‘Lately, you seem always spaced out or not in a good mood.’ Zakuro continued. ‘Pudding wants the old Ichigo onee-chan back, na no da!’ Pudding said, pulling up a sad face. ‘Yeah, Ichigo. Don’ t you think that it’ s hard for me to actually been working and not having my tea?’ Mint said, sounding serious and sarcastic at the same time. Ryou and Keiichirou agreed with the other four Mews. Ichigo waved the comments away. ‘What are you guys talking about? I’ m fine, really.’ she said. It kept silent. ‘Come on, it’ s about time that we start working because the Café is going to open soon.’ Before waiting on any replies she quickly ran away. She knew that what they all were saying was true, but she didn’ t want to make everybody worry about her. They all had there own problems to think about, so why would they need to pay attention on her? She ran to the door, watched at the clock on the wall and then opened it. There were already a few customers that came in and took a seat while Ichigo began taking orders. The others also started with their jobs. They all didn’ t knew what for terrible thing that was going to happen later...
